Marama's Dog

Marama’s Dog - Pt 1, No 1, 2009


1. Find the meanings of these words from the story.
Breed -  To keep animals or plants so that you can produce more of them and control their quality.✔
mongrel - A dog mixed of breed.✔
bitzer - A bit of a whole lost of breeds.
2. Draw a dog that you would like to own.
This is a dog that I want to own,  it and it called Bella she very nice. She can do tricks like jump over the hoop and also she can catch balls and sticks.
3. Answer these comprehension questions to show your understanding of the text.
a) Why do they call Kuri a bitzer? because he has a bit of a whole lots of breed. (this is correct but not a full sentence).
b) What makes Kuri special? Marama told her friends that Kuri is special because he saved Marama’s life.
c) Who helped Marama feel better about her dog? Her Dad made her better by telling her a story when she was young and her dad said that he couldn’t see her so Kuri saved her life.
d) Explain why you think the other children didn’t think Marama’s dog was special?  I think people didn’t think Marama’s do was special because they said that Kuri is not a special because he is not a proper dog.
